Extra edition. 3 girls and 1 boy’s Road Trip -Day6-

Hi everyone!

Thank you for visiting I.W.H.P’s blog again!
We have been having a hot day and cloudy day so it is hard to choose what to wear right now..

I went to have a look fire works festival in Brisbane 2 weekends before.
It was nice and we haven’t gone out late for long time so I was exhausted.
There was a big event but when we got to the train station, they were not working. So We had to catch a bus from there to half way to Brisbane and then we got on a train again.
It took more than 2 hours…
I got used to it but it was too much.

We went there with some of our students and also caught up with our old students who live in Brisbane after the fire works.
It was good night.

Anyway, we are going to share about our student’s road trip again.
Today’s story is Day 6!
Here we go!

Day 1

Day 2
Day 3
Day 4
Day 5

This is a road trip story which these 4 students decided to do from Gold Coast to Sydney and Melborne in Yoda’s little Mitsubishi Mirage.

<Day 6>

We stayed in Cabin 2 days in a row. It was very comfortable!!!! I woke up earlier than the alarm clock so I took a walk because it was such a beautiful day.
I found a small pond in the caravan park so I went to have a look.
The wind was cold but the sunshine made me warm and sleepy. I saw horses eating grass between the trees. Oh, this is the Australia I dreamed about!!!! I got excited so much this morning.

I recommended taking a walk in the morning because it is such a beautiful spot in the caravan park. It is winter season now so I didn’t see many people and I felt like a private caravan park!
We have to use public showers and toilets if we stay in a tent but I haven’t waited to havea a shower so far.
Please do not buy a $10 or $15 sleeping bag from Kmart like Samba and Yoda!
Kojirou tried their sleeping bag. She said that even if she used double, it is same as sleeping without s matress! If you prepare for cold night, you can be very comfortable! And Yoda who didn’t get his money from a farm job and a professional for survival life told us that you need to get a Yoga matt because you can feel the coldness from the ground!

Anyway, it was a relaxing day today and it was the last day with Samba. She looked a bit sad.

We were planning to go Hyams beach today but we missed Samba so much so decided to spend the day at Bondi Beach until her flight.

Bondi Beach is like a Retro version of Gold Coast.
We parked the car in the parking. It was warmer than the caravan park.
It was busy but we saw a few surfers and it is a beautiful place.

Time past very quicly and suddenly it was time to say good bye. We went to send off Samba at Kingsford Airport in Sydney.

The parking fee was very expensive in Sydney! It is just the airport!
It seemed to be only free for 15 minutes so we gave up seeing her off in the airport, instead we said good bye in the parking.
It is not “see you soon” anymore, because we don’t know when we will see her again. This is the Working Holiday.
We knew we would missed her so much so we hugged 3 times.

We can’t believe we had ejust spent 2 months together but the moments we spent togerther were all precious. Thank you for the wonderful times with us, Samba!

After seeing off Samba, we booked a cabin for the night again because Yoda was tired from driving. We booked an expensive cabin so we expected it was going to be a good cabin!
On the way to the accommodation, we saw more beautiful scenery.
It is like coming out from the TV!

We arrived at the accomodation and the receptionist showed us a map of the caravan park.
We were excited so much!
But she didn’t give us any keys for the cabin.
Did she forget to give us the key?
We asked her if we could have the key.
But she said to us that you don’t need the key for your cabin.(With a smile)

!?!?!?!?!

Is there such a cabin with no keys??!!

We went to look for our cabin.

And there is a cabin…..No It’s a TENT! It was a luxury tent!

It is very fashionable. Yes, a very cool tent…but there were a lot of gaps in the tent.

It was going to be freezing!!!
We spent a bit more so why did we get this tent!!!

The word “Delux” confused us…..yes, we should come back to this tent in Summer time.

We had no choice but to sleep in this “Delux” tent.
We went to town to get dinner. It is a nice and cozy town and we went to a kinda supermaket.
IT WAS EXPENSIVE….the bread was expensive. Everything was expensive.
Domino Pizza caught our tired eyes and body.
We shouldn’t have Domino Pizza…we fought with it.
We saw a chinese restaurant….but it reminded us of the “Beef” that tasted like squid.
We had no choice.
Kojiro’s share owner told her it is much faster to order online than ordering at the shop.
Yes, our order was up only 10 minutes! We don’t know how they are cooking the Pizza but it was good service. We went to the beach while we were waiting and saw a nice looking burger shop…
Kojiro and Yoda who felt humilated started playing with a swing somehow. Strange.

We went back to our “Delux” tent and had a pizza. It was freezing cold so not even we could take a picture.
Later I realized we had a hawaiian pizza for 3 meals today.
After dinner, we started replanning our travel for Yoda. (Because he was exhausted from driving.)
We were planning to go to Phillip island to take for 2 days but changed it to 3 days.
Meanwhile, Samba went back to Gold Coast and she messaged us that she forgot her bag in the air plane. Ah she is a true Osaka person.

I am fussy about washing my clothes so I went to the laundry room after everyone had had a shower.
We had to be careful with the laundry in Australia because we hadn’t seen a money changing machine beside the washing machine so we had to ask the reception to change the money.
Most of the time, the reception is closed because I wash my clothes at night.
If you want to stay in a tent, you need enough coins for washing.
I prepared 3 for 1 dollar and 4 for 4 dollars and I thought it would be enough.
Then the accident happened.
The avarage price of the laundry machine is about 3 to 4 dollars. And this was most expensive, it was 5 dollars! And also this machine only take 1 dollar! coins!!!!!
I went back to ask for Yoda and Kojiro’s help but they only had one doller and 2 dollars….
It was not enough…….I couldn’t wash my clothes.

The dryer looked like it took 2 dollars coin so I did hand wash and tried to use dry machine.
We all did hand wash and I wen to the laundry room again to use the dryers.
I was happy to insert the coins…..but they came out…
I tried again….and they came back again….
Wow, the dryer also only takes 1 doller coins!!!!!!
I couldn’t go back to everyone because I was taking care of everyone’s clothes.
I couldn’t tell them the dryer was not working because I’d washed all clothes!
So I panicked….
I remembered there was a vending machine so I went there..
HOW LUCKY I WAS!!!!
I saw a shinny gold coin on the floor!!!!
I checked nobody was around me and took it and went back to the laundry.
I was skipping in the dark with big smile. I am sure I looked strange….

We went to bed early while we are missing Samba.
